Dr Bettina Christl is a clinical psychologist registered with AHPRA (PSY0001811040). Bettina is passionate about helping people from all walks of life, including children, adolescents and adults. Her therapeutic approach aims to build on the existing strengths of each person and to grow their resilience.
Bettina is dedicated to helping adults who struggle with mood difficulties, anxiety or stress. She has a particular interest in supporting those experiencing acute or prolonged grief in response to the death of a loved one.
Bettina is also experienced in helping children on the Autism Spectrum and their parents, including diagnostic assessments and support for accesssing NDIS funding, as well as social skills training and supporting their ability to regulate their emotions. She is also experienced in giving support to children with ADHD, anxiety, school refusal, food fussiness, toileting issues, challenging behaviours and attachment difficulties as well as to those affected by cancer.
Bettina has worked with adults, adolescents and children in a variety of settings, including community health, hospital, private practice and university clinic settings. Her therapeutic approach is evidence based and uses techniques from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, mindfulness as well as EMDR.
Bettina has a strong background in research, including the early detection of Autism, as well as the impact of perinatal adversity on mother-child attachment and early child development.
